Norwegian Escape Begins 2018 Summer Schedule To Bermuda

The Norwegian Escape, the largest cruise ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, began its 2018 summer cruise schedule to Bermuda this week in a big way.

The ship docked in the West End yesterday with full capacity of 5,000 passengers aboard, and is expected to be booked heavily during its Bermuda voyages in the coming weeks.

The Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Regulatory Affairs, the Hon. Walter Roban JP MP led a Bermuda delegation aboard to commemorate the ship’s maiden Bermuda voyage.

The latest luxury liner on its inaugural visit to the island, put in at the Heritage Wharf in the Royal Naval Dockyard. The nearly three year old vessel, with a maximum occupancy of up to 5000, has a crew of 1,733.

The traditional exchange of plaques took place in a brief ceremony involving the Deputy Premier, West End Development Corporation General Manager Andrew Dias and the ship’s Captain Giovanni Cutugno.

The Norwegian Escape arrived from New York and will leave port to return there tomorrow.

This is the first call of its 24 visits this season.
