At approximately 9:25am on Friday, January 12th, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a deep fryer involved with fire at the Sung Sing Restaurant on Victoria Street in Hamilton.

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident with 1 fire appliance staffed with 4 firefighters.  Fire service spokesperson, Sergeant Delton White, stated that “upon arrival we found a deep fryer involved with fire with flames visible.  Two firefighters dressed in full protective clothing and breathing apparatus then used a DCP fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.”

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but the deep fryer received heat and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
