Customs Officer Falls Between Cruise Ship & Wharf

Word coming to TNN today of what is believed to have been an accident involving a male customs officer that fell between a cruise ship and the wharf in Dockyard on Thursday May 10th, 2018 somewhere between the hour of 1am and 2am. It has been brought to the attention of TNN that the officer broke his arm in multiple places.

The officer was on duty at the time assisting passengers from the cruise ship to board the vessel. It was fortunate that a fellow colleague of the officer heard his cries and immediately assisted in helping to retrieve him from the water and safely back on the wharf.

The officer was then transported via ambulance to the King Edward Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his wounds. TNN has sought a response from the Collector of Customs regarding this matter.

TNN understands an investigation has begun in matter and the Customs Officers is expected to be out on leave for upto 8weeks.
