The Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Fairmont Southampton, Shelly Meszoly, spoke with TNN regarding the anticipated sales and predicted forecast for the upcoming tourism season of 2018.

Bermuda’s first two scheduled cruise ship arrivals for the year have been cancelled after the Cunard Line’s MS Queen Victoria and the Bermuda-registered MS Queen Elizabeth began experiencing heavy weather and rough seas in the North Atlantic.

The Minister Jahmal Simmons has released a statement and condemning the behavior of some individuals in that melee at Bermuda’s largest hotel resort The Fairmont Southampton and I quote :

Ricardo Cera, the executive chef at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club is the mastermind behind the 6.5ft tall gingerbread house found in the lobby of the hotel. Beyond the amazing gingerbread smell that fills the lobby and many other decorations to bring a festive spirit to the hotel, the gingerbread house is actually large enough to for most children to fit inside.

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club today announced that they will be hosting a Christmas cookie competition for children across the island. Children aged 12 and under are invited to submit two Christmas cookies of any type and decorated as they would like, to be judged by Hamilton Princess & Beach Club’s General Manager, Executive Chef and Pastry Chef.

On January 2, 2018, the ultra-luxury Rosewood Bermuda, formerly known as Rosewood Tucker’s Point, will close to undergo a comprehensive $25 million re-imagination that will elevate every aspect of the award-winning resort. The renovation will include the complete redesign of the resort’s guestrooms, Beach Club, Golf Clubhouse and Sense, A Rosewood Spa®, as well as enhanced meeting space and new and elevated food and beverage outlets and concepts. Upon reopening in April 2018, the landmark property will debut as Rosewood Bermuda.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Regulatory Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban JP MPtoday led a delegation that greeted the Italian-flaggedViking Sun, on its inaugural cruise to Bermuda, arrivingin Hamilton from the Azores.

Paul Telford, managing director of Rosewood Bermuda, has been named chairman of the Bermuda Tourism Authority Board of Directors by Minister of Tourism and Economic Development Jamahl Simmons. Telford’s appointment comes on the heels of the retirement of Founding Chairman David Dodwell.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Regulatory Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban JP MP yesterday escorted a small delegation onboard the M/S Norwegian Getaway to celebrate the ships inaugural visit to Bermuda. The Norwegian Getaway is the sister ship to the Norwegian Breakaway and is currently on a 14-day trans-Atlantic cruise which originated in Copenhagen, stopping off in Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel) Azores. The Getaway is today headed back to her home port in Miami.
