 The motoring public is reminded that traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect for the 2018 KPMG Front Street Mile running races on Friday night.

The event is part of the Bermuda Marathon Weekend taking place from Friday, January 12th until Sunday, January 14th.

Flora Duffy was crowned the 2017 XTERRA Women's World Champion in Maui.

Duffy won the Xterra World Championship for a record-breaking fourth consecutive time when she crossed the line 13th overall clocking a time of 2:47.48.

Yesterday, following a celebratory motorcade through Hamilton organized by the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, the U-17 Women's National Football Team were presented with certificates of achievement by Premier The Hon. David Burt JP MP and the Minister of Social Development and Sports the Hon. Zane DeSilva JP MP for qualifying for the CONCACAF Finals in Nicaragua next year.

The Bermuda U-17 Women’s Football Team have once again done Bermuda proud by defeating Jamaica 3 – 2 in the CONCACAF Caribbean Under 17 Women’s Football Tournament being held in Haiti.  This marks the first time our U-17 Women’s have beaten Jamaica and have made it to the semi-finals.

Members of an advanced team for the World Triathlon Series event in Bermuda are ending a three day site visit and departing the island today.

For the first time, the International Triathlon Union (ITU) will host a “World Series” event in Bermuda this April.

Bermudian Flora Duffy is the two time ITU World Champion.

The Department of Parks would like to  inform the general public that due to the Partner-Re 5K Run & Walk vehicular traffic within the Botanical Gardens will be controlled and restricted on Sunday morning.

On Sunday 1st October 2017, the day of the 5K Run & Walk, between 7:45 a.m. and  approximately 12:00 noon the Botanical Gardens will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except Department and emergency vehicles. The closure of the grounds during this period is to accommodate the Junior Race which takes place within the grounds of Botanical Gardens as well as the main event which starts and finishes at Camden on the east side of the grounds.

There will be staff and volunteers on duty to direct pedestrians and to respond to any queries as needed.

The cooperation of the general public is greatly appreciated with respect to this major community fundraising event.
